fotbollströjor barn med tryck With the 2016/17 season now winding down to its final few games, pundits and journalists are all starting to put together their respective best XI’s of the campaign. The PFA shortlists are now in, and the voting forms are now being passed around to the decision makers for the big announcements in May.But they aren’t the only ones being asked to join in on the fun of selecting their best team, as The Telegraph have asked their columnist Ryan Giggs for his picks, too.
Giggs knows what it takes to make a Team of the Year, having been included in a fair few himself, and he’ll know what a player will need in his locker in order to make the cut themselves.Everyone will have a few players that unarguably deserve to be in a definitive TOTY, but Giggs has selected one or two surprise choices to make up his side, and no doubt fans will have a few things to say about his choices. But looking it over, it’s hard to argue as the XI looks strong and everyone included are all in on merit for their respective performances.Opting for a 4-2-3-1 formation, the squad he’s chosen displays a good amount of balance and individual brilliance to work.In goal he has selected Manchester United’s David de Gea. The Spaniard is undoubtedly one of the best ’keepers in the top flight and though Giggs recognises that Hugo Lloris and Thibaut Courtois have kept more clean sheets, he highlight’s de Gea’s ability to pull off a game changing save as his main reason for picking him.
At the back, he’s selected another United player in the shape of Antonio Valencia. Giggs believes the Ecuadorian is having his best season at the club since being converted into a right-back. David Luiz and Toby Alderweireld make up his centre-back pairing, while Danny Rose sneaks in on the left side.Giggs compares Rose to Patrice Evra as his reason for including him, and though he is currently out injured, we all have to admit that he has played well this term.Sitting just in front of the defence is Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante and another Tottenham player in Moussa Dembele. While it’s no shock to see Kante included, Dembele’s inclusion has simply come down to the fact that his fitness levels are now better and that he can complete 90 minutes.
Further forward is another pair from Chelsea and Tottenham, manchester united barnkläder with Dele Alli and Eden Hazard making the cut, while Liverpool’s Adam Lallana completes the attacking midfield trio.”Another one currently injured, but he has been a major part of what makes Liverpool’s system work. High energy and great quality when he is on the ball,” Giggs said of the England international. And finally, up front, is another Spurs player. Harry Kane. Beating the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Diego Costa because of his work rate and willingness to give more to the team. It’s a Spurs heavy squad, but it’s tough to argue with his selections, unless you can think of anyone better, let us know in the comments…
